What is Presence Pilot?
Presence Pilot is a Slack and Microsoft Teams presence monitoring tool designed for managers. It allows you to track when employees are active, away, or offline—automatically logging this data and providing clear reports and analytics.
How does Presence Pilot track user presence?
Presence Pilot connects via OAuth to Slack and Microsoft Graph APIs, polling presence information (like "active", "away", or "offline") every 15 minutes. This data is securely stored and visualized.
Is there a free version of Presence Pilot?
Yes! We offer a Free Plan that includes presence tracking for up to 5 users, 24-hour history, and access to the unified Slack & Teams dashboard.
How does Presence Pilot ensure data security and compliance?
We follow OAuth standards, encrypt all stored data, and never request more permissions than needed. No message content or private user data is accessed or stored.
Why was Presence Pilot created?
Managers needed an easy way to monitor remote team presence across platforms without invasive monitoring. Presence Pilot provides visibility without overreach.
Presence tracking isn’t working — what should I do?
Ensure your integration tokens haven’t expired and that your users are connected. You can re-authenticate your workspace under the settings panel.
How can I test Presence Pilot to confirm it's working?
After connecting a workspace, go to your team dashboard and check real-time status updates or visit the history view to confirm logs are appearing.
Can I use Presence Pilot if my company controls our Slack/Teams setup?
Your Slack/Teams admin must approve the app installation. If you're not an admin, contact your IT team to request access.
How do I close my Presence Pilot account?
Log into your account, go to Settings → Account, and click “Delete Account”. Your integrations and data will be permanently removed.
How do I reset my Presence Pilot password?

How do I permanently delete my account?

How do I cancel my Presence Pilot subscription?
Go to Billing → Manage Plan and select “Cancel Subscription”. Your plan will remain active until the end of the billing cycle.
How do the analytics and graphs work on the team page?
Presence Pilot visualizes presence data as time charts, showing online, away, and offline states per user and per team.
Can my company see that we are using Presence Pilot?
Only workspace admins and users who install the app have access. No external parties or your company IT can monitor the data unless invited.
Is there a mobile or desktop app for Presence Pilot?
Presence Pilot is a responsive web application. We do not currently offer a mobile or desktop app, but you can use it in any browser.
How can I update my billing details or credit card?
Go to Billing → Update Payment Method. You can securely update your card using our Stripe integration.
How does Slack determine if someone is active or away?
Slack marks users as “active” when there’s mouse/keyboard activity in the app or browser. Inactivity switches the status to “away” after 30 minutes.
Why does Slack sometimes show users as away incorrectly?
Slack presence is based on app activity, not actual work. If users don’t interact with Slack directly, they may appear away—even if working.
What does the green dot in Slack or Teams actually mean?
A green dot means the user is currently “active”. No dot means they are “away” or offline. Presence Pilot tracks this status automatically.
Can I sync Slack presence with my Google Calendar?
Presence Pilot doesn’t currently integrate with Google Calendar, but status automation based on working hours is available via schedules.
